Women’s Day 2026: Leveraging Technology to Achieve Gender Equality for Community Pharmacists in Southeast Asia

Across Southeast Asia, women make up nearly 80% of the pharmacy workforce — yet only 28% become pharmacy owners.

🌍Every day is Women’s Day at SwipeRx where we use technology to empower pharmacists of all genders to thrive as primary healthcare providers and business operators. Through our free access digital platform, SwipeRx makes it easier for women pharmacists to access digital training programs, information and tools they need to overcome gendered barriers to leading a successful pharmacy.

We are pleased to announce  a new report describing how SwipeRx is using digital innovation to close gendered gaps so that women have equal opportunities to lead and grow their pharmacy businesses.

Developed with support from Global Innovation Fund (GIF) and Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), the report draws on SwipeRx platform analytics, survey data, and global literature to analyze solutions to common challenges using  a Gender, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) framework. ✨

Community pharmacists are often the first point of care for millions of patients across the region. Empowering women pharmacists with the right tools, training, and opportunities is therefore essential not only for gender equity, but also for stronger primary healthcare systems. 💙

🚀Read the attached report to learn more about opportunities to collaborate with  SwipeRx to address gender gaps by  expanding digital training opportunities, improving access to financing for women pharmacy owners, strengthening mentorship and leadership networks, and advocating for more gender-equitable policies across the pharmacy sector.
