SwipeRx is pleased to contribute private-sector engagement expertise as part of the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) Regional Technical Assistance initiative supporting the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Working Group on Health Cooperation (WGHC) regional efforts to strengthen antimicrobial stewardship (AMS).
To kick off this collaboration, SwipeRx joined the WGHC Annual Meeting in Luang Prabang alongside government representatives from Cambodia, Lao PDR, Viet Nam, Thailand, and the People’s Republic of China earlier in July 2026.
During the meeting, SwipeRx shared four evidence-based strategies to strengthen private-sector contributions to AMS:
✔️ Collecting and using data to strengthen national surveillance systems
✔️ Motivating improved antibiotic prescribing and dispensing practices
✔️ Building ethical antibiotic supply chains, and
✔️ Innovating for antibiotic resistance prevention, including expanded immunization and infection prevention coverage
The GMS Program is a subregional cooperation initiative designed to promote innovation in health and other sectors by embracing private sector solutions, harnessing the digital revolution and tapping synergies through regional cooperation and integration.
SwipeRx looks forward to working closely with Asian Development Bank’s (ADB), government partners, and regional stakeholders to explore innovative digital approaches that strengthen private-sector engagement and advance antimicrobial stewardship across the Greater Mekong Subregion.
